A brand is more than what it sells.
An unmistakable brand gets recognized for far more than the product or service that carries its name. We all have a brand we love, one we’re unreasonably loyal to, beyond the point of being rational. Or a brand that catches our eye and makes an impulsive purchase feel inevitable.
That’s because brands can ignite a memory: of the places we go, the experiences we’ve had and the people we think of when we see them.
Advertising should help build that meaning. But the way we buy media today is fragmented across channels, each with its own fields, formats and ways of working. A brand’s intent gets reduced to fit them, and some of what makes it distinct gets lost along the way.
